The Must See Garden in Martinique
All heavens are made of garden, the tour through the Balata Garden is one to give one of a kind and marvelous sensations to the visitors and is definitely a heavenly one.
Back in 1982 Jean Philippe Thoze, landscaper, horticulturist and a true artist by nature, came back to his childhood house, his grand parents typical creole lodge. Its was the start of a passion for botany that took him all over the world.
The garden landscaped around the traditional creole family house is the result of the work of one of a kind artist and his journey back to his roots.
The Balata Garden takes you on a fascinating journey in the wonders of biodiversity. The visit takes between 1h 30 and 2 hours.

A Unique Walk at the height of a Botanical Garden
Live a truly unique experience, while crossing the Hanging Garden on bridges between the giant mahoganys. That is another way to discover the wonders of the Balata Garden from the top, and at the same time enjoy the panoramic view of the Fort de France’s Bay and of the Carbet Mountains; Sights worth the walk and definitely being immortalized on your camera. At more than 16 yards/15 meters of height, this particular and rare visit accessible to all (children minimum 8 years old) is surprisingly an easy one due to the comfort of the bridges, those ones are totally secure (nets…), making your pleasure your priority.
